Non Lucrative Visa (NLV) Requirements

Spanish Non-Lucrative Visa Explained

A Non-Lucrative Visa is a special permission that lets people live in Spain without needing to work. This is great for people who have enough money to support themselves without having a job.

Requirements to Get the Visa

1. **Show You Have Enough Money**:

- You need to prove you have enough money to live in Spain. For one person, this is €28,800 in 2024. If you want to bring your family, you need an extra €7,200 for each family member.

2. **No Job Allowed**:

- You must show that you don't have a job anywhere in the world. This means you can't work while you're in Spain.

3. **No Criminal Record**:

- You need to prove you haven't committed any crimes. The consulate (the place where you apply for the visa) will check your background.

How to Prove You Have Enough Money

You can show you have enough money by giving these documents:

1. **Bank Statements**:

- Show bank statements from the last 6 to 12 months. These statements should show your savings and other money you have.

2. **Other Income Sources**:

- Show proof of other income, like money from renting a house, investments, or a pension.

3. **Bank Validation**:

- Get a document from your bank that proves the validity of your credit cards and the value of your property.

Bringing Family Members

If you want to bring your family with you, they need to provide some documents too:

1. **Minor Children**:

- Birth certificate to show they are your children.

2. **Spouse**:

- Marriage certificate to show you are married.

3. **Partner**:

- Documents proving you are in a relationship, but not married.

4. **Adult Children**:

- Documents showing they depend on you financially and are part of your family.

5. **Parents**:

- Documents proving they depend on you financially and are part of your family.

Renewal Process

Every time you renew your visa, you need to show you still have enough money according to the IPREM (a Spanish economic indicator) for that year. All documents must be in euros and up-to-date.

Important Note

Make sure all documents are stamped (apostilled) and translated into Spanish by a sworn translator.

Summary

- **Non-Lucrative Visa**: Lets you live in Spain without working.

- **Requirements**: Show you have enough money, no job, no criminal record.

- **Prove Money**: Bank statements, other income, bank validation.

- **Family**: Provide documents like birth and marriage certificates.

- **Renewal**: Show enough money every time you renew the visa.

This visa is a great way to live in Spain if you have enough money and don't need to work.
