Sax has a very good hotel, Fuente el Cura and a train station to Alicante, Valencia and Madrid. The high speed train link to Madrid is also accessible from sax dropping you in the centre of the capitol in two hours.
The castle which dominates the town dates back a thousand years and is lit up every evening to providing you with gorgeous views of it day or night. An amazing landmark.
Fiestas play a big part of local life, there are several throughout the year, the main one being the Moros y Cristianos, which is a week long party with amazing costumes, parades, fireworks, music and lots of drinking and socialising – a great family event which locals of all ages look forward to.
The city Elda & Petrer is a short 10 minute drive, it has a large Hospital with English speaking doctors, a huge range of bars and restaurants, indoor shopping centre, big international gym, Carrefour, Aldi, Lidl, Cinema with English films shown weekly, and fast food outlets.
Alicante airport, city and beaches is only 35 minutes drive away
